I just realized that In The Flesh is exactly what I had been talking about really wanting all this time— a love story that happens to be queer, but the fact that they are queer has nothing to do with the main plot of the show at all. Simon and Kieren could have been a hetero couple and their story would still be basically exactly the same. BBC did it.
